Commonwealth Diamond Jubilee Stamps Come Flooding In.

More Diamond Jubilee stamps from Commonwealth countries have been issued. On 1 April 2012, The Turkish Republic Of Northern Cyprus issued a very attractive single stamp to commemorate the royal event. We must recall that Queen Elizabeth II was Queen of Cyprus from 1952 until 1960 when the island of Cyprus became an independent republic.
CASCO has announced two further issues, both released on 12 June 2012. A set of 4 has been issued by St. Helena. This set has a more locally relevant feel to it than the first set of 8 diamond-shaped stamps and 2 miniature sheets which was issued on 6 February 2012 because the second issue features artwork by local school children. The stamps were designed by Andrew Robinson and were printed in lithography by Enschede.

Meanwhile, from The Cayman Islands comes a very attractive set of 4 stamps (25c, 80c, $1 and $1.50) along with a booklet of 10x 25c stamps which are self-adhesive. This issue was again designed by Andrew Robinson but lithographed by BDT International Security Printers.

I have not yet seen the designs of the two issues from Pitcairn Island and Vanuatu which both consist of 2 stamps. Doubtless, there are still a good number of Commonwealth countries to release stamps to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee.
